Welcome to the JFS website. This web site has been designed to provide information for prospective and current staff, students and parents. JFS is a state secondary school that has been educating Jewish children in London since 1732. On the website, you will find pages describing everything from our remarkable history to our current outstanding educational achievements. As well as details of our formal curriculum, you can find information on the School's many extra curricular activities. These provide a range of wonderful opportunities including sport, music, drama, debating and educational visits both locally and abroad. These are enjoyed by students and staff alike.

In April 2009 JFS had another highly successful OFSTED inspection. On all 39 measures on which a school is assessed JFS was found to be OUTSTANDING.

Here are some of the specific things that the OFSTED and Jewish Studies inspectors said in their reports.

All students make outstanding progress.  Students behave extremely well and enjoy life in a very safe environment.

The quality of teaching is outstanding.  Teachers' subject knowledge is excellent and lessons are very well planned, containing a full range of activities to engage and interest students.  New concepts are explained clearly, so that students know what is expected of them and, as a result, they tackle their work with confidence.

Excellent support is given to all students to ensure they achieve as well as they can.  Academic guidance is very strong and so students are all clear about what they need to do to achieve their targets.

Students make outstanding progress in the Sixth Form and reach standards in their work, which are extremely high.  The Sixth Form provides an excellent education for its students, who are very pleased by the large number of subjects offered, which include a wide range of both academic and applied options.
