For the second year in a row, fulfilling the Olympic legacy of getting more people involved and interested in Paralympic sport, the PE department organised wheelchair basketball.
Spanning over a two day period approximately 200 students from Years 7-11 had the opportunity to experience Basketball in a wheelchair.
The sessions enhanced all the Paralympic involvement work that the PE department have been working on over the last year, as well as providing fun and a new opportunity for many students. The experience highlighted the high level of skill needed to participate in the sport at a high level and gave the students a greater understanding of this sport.
The sessions were really fun and many came away saying it was the ‘most fun PE lesson they have ever had’.
