Soldier’s Bravery Inspires Youth Challenge

JFS Year 13  student, Eytan Merkier, was presented with a certificate in the Year 12 assembly this week by Mark Evison Foundation founder, Margaret Evison.

The certificate recognises Eytan as the first JFS recipient of the Mark Evison Foundation (MEF) Award (a cheque for £500) which he used to build a wind turbine for renewable energy. Mrs Evison spoke about her son Mark, who tragically lost his life serving as a Lieutenant in the British army in Afghanistan aged only 26. She then encouraged students to apply for the award and fulfill the aim of encouraging young people in their own personal, mental and physical development.
