Students Rap with Celebrity

29/10/2015

Year 13 students were delighted when the guest speaker at assembly this week was none other than the rapper Nissim Black.
Nissim is a Seattle-based recording artist/producer, who made his first impression nationally in 2008 as D.Black, on producer Jake One’s label, White Van Music, with the song “God Like”. He was born a Suni Moslem, converted to Christianity at the age of 14 and finally his spiritual journey ended with his embrace of Judaism.
Now his music focuses on his new journey, in his words, “To make music that inspires and elevates this world, to the world of spirituality and divine purpose.” After telling students about his spiritual journey, Nissim sang his latest release and encouraged students to join in.
