US Supreme Court Justice Visits JFS

Year 13 students were delighted to welcome Richard H Bernstein an American lawyer, the current and youngest ever Michigan Supreme Court Justice at age 41. Classified as legally blind since birth, he has gone on to achieve incredible things in his life, which was his message to our students.

Justice Bernstein spoke of overcoming all tests and adversity in life and recognizing the good in everything. He spoke in a very interactive manner about his personal and professional life and his outstanding achievements, leaving a lasting impression on the students.
At another session at lunchtime, he gave the Politics students an insight into the US Judiciary system, election campaigns and a range of other issues. He also spoke about the burden of responsibility he feels for all decisions he makes and how ultimately he is guided by his religion, recognizing that at the end of his life he will be judged by the Supreme Judge of all!
