Year 10 Geographers

12/04/2013

Year 10 Geographers visited the Juniper Hall Field Studies Centre, near Dorking in Surrey recently where they studied the changes in the River Tillingbourne (a tributary of the Thames) from upstream to downstream.

Students had a lecture in the morning from the FSC teachers on the River Tillingbourne and how to complete effective and safe field work. In muddy and wet conditions, a very hard working and enthusiastic Year 10 cohort completed some excellent Geography field work for the rest of the day. Year 10 students will spend the next 2 months completing a field work enquiry project on the River and will compare it to other rivers and theoretical models; a project which contributes towards their final GCSE.
