The annual AJEX Remembrance Parade is taking place Sunday 15 November. As in previous years, staff and students will march past the Cenotaph, in Central London, in memory of those who died in past wars.  It is a Jewish event that mirrors the National Remembrance this Sunday and lasts about an hour. Students who would like to participate and need further information can contact the History Department or the Head Boy/Head Girl Team, who are coordinating the logistics.

Year 13 students were delighted when the guest speaker at assembly this week was none other than the rapper Nissim Black. Nissim is a Seattle-based recording artist/producer, who made his first impression nationally in 2008 as D.Black, on producer Jake One’s label, White Van Music, with the song “God Like”. He was born a Suni Moslem, converted to Christianity at the age of 14 and finally his spiritual journey ended with his embrace of Judaism.

JFS Year 13  student, Eytan Merkier, was presented with a certificate in the Year 12 assembly this week by Mark Evison Foundation founder, Margaret Evison.

The JFS Politics Society was delighted to introduce Mike Freer, the MP for Finchley and Golders Green, to Sixth Form students. Mr Freer spoke about his career path in politics and the various committees he sits on. This was then followed by a Question and Answer session with the students.

Chag Sameach to all our students, parents and staff!
