Our annual Prospective Parents Evening (PPE) is the largest event in our school calendar. This year we welcomed over 1500 people and our students were there to greet them with warmth and assuredness that was extremely impressive. Our students always enjoy showing off their school and were happy to welcome the public together with their children. We have received numerous complimentary emails from the public, who had the opportunity to see our facilities and meet with our staff.


A recent JFS Alumna has won the Children's Aid Comittee (CAC) Young Volunteer of the Year award at the JVN Awards, held recently at JW3. Leora managed to fit volunteering for Norwood, at an elderly people’s home, amidst her Medicine application process, for which she was successful.


Year 12 students enjoyed a night of celebration, awarding their success in their GCSEs and recognising their achievements.



Students have been voting in a mock referendum on Scottish independence. The results were as follows:

Yes: 125 (16.6%) No: 629 (83.4%) Spoiled ballots: 37

Turnout: 791 students (38.4%)

You may be interested to know that Sixth Form students were marginally more pro-Union than their peers in the Lower School and had a much higher turnout.


The inaugural public performance for the JFS Klezmer Band took place. Students performed at “Klezmer in the Park” on the Regents Park bandstand and delighted the audience with a 30 minute set. The students gave an excellent performance and were most certainly on par with the professional musicians that they shared the stage with
