We marked International Holocaust Memorial Day by hosting our annual seminar for Brent Schools. This is an important way to ensure that the message of the Holocaust is not forgotten and to forge links between the varied schools in Brent.

Two teams from Year 11 took part in a heat of the ESU (English Speaking Union) Public Speaking Competition at South Hampstead High School. The JFS B Team came second with their speaker, Mia Grabski, picking up the prize for best speaker of the evening.

Well done to all the participants!

We are delighted that Tony Douglas, one of our instrumental Music teachers, who has worked at JFS for many years, has been awarded an MBE for services to Further Education in the New Year’s Honours list.

We are delighted that Tony’s dedication in teaching Music has been recognised in this way.

We are pleased to welcome back the students of Lavi 19 and wish the Lavi 20 group a Nesia Tova, as well as a pleasant and memorable experience in Israel.

On the second night of Chanukah a group of JFS students and I made our way to the heart of London’s city district to the offices of Herbert Smith Freehills. We were greeted by a Junior Associate who escorted us up several escalators to a meeting room where there were a number of lawyers eagerly waiting to tuck in to delicious looking doughnuts, and of course speak with our students.
