Student Journalists

At JFS we are always looking to offer new opportunities for our students to excel. To meet this aim, some of the gifted and talented English students are selected each year to serve as Student Journalists. The successful JFS Student Journalist Programme ensures that parents can keep abreast of the numerous events and visits that occur at JFS on a daily basis. They are responsible for researching and writing entries primarily for the school website, the JFS Newsletter, Facebook and Alumni Magazine.

This year has seen the scheme develop further with the launching of the Student Journalist blog, a chance to showcase the creative writing talents of the team of journalists.

The History of JFS

JFS is Europe's largest and most successful Jewish secondary school. It was established in 1732 as the Talmud Torah of the Great Synagogue of London, serving orphans of the community.

PTA

The PTA works to support the School and helps to purchase vital equipment.

The annual Supper Quiz will take place on 19 May 2013. Tickets are £17.50 and there are opportunities for sponsorship.

Inspection Reports

The School had an OFSTED inspection and a PIKUACH inspection of the Jewish Studies in the spring of 2009.

Both reported that JFS is an outstanding school.

The Ofsted report identified JFS as being outstanding in every one of the 39 measures by which schools are assessed.
