The Annual Year 9 Industry Day took learning inside the classroom to whole new level.
The technology department arranged for representatives from different industries to lead workshops on their specialism.
Students had the chance to experience 4 different workshops as well as starting the day with a whole year group presentation. This drew a link between our ITAM (IT, Art, Music and Technology) subjects and the industries we were to learn about later.
The workshops ranged from catering to jewellery making and from forensics to wallpaper design. Each of the leaders had their own story, not only about their industry, but their personal journey that led them to setting up their business or even getting into their field of industry. It was a fantastic day and definitely gave us some ideas about our potential careers in the future.
