Football is now a part of the PE curriculum for all Year 7 students. They will have at least 6 lessons in the Autumn or Spring Term. Students will therefore need to have football boots to enable them to play on grass in the winter. If your child does not play football out of School, or does not intend to get involved in extra-curricular activities, we suggest that you delay the purchase of boots until you know when your child’s football lessons will take place.
We try to facilitate girls’ football on the astroturf pitch where possible, in case this may assist avoiding additional expense for many female students.
Interpretations of our uniform, even minor ones, will not be acceptable so please don’t waste your money. Students not in proper uniform must have a note from home, explaining the temporary problem. This note will, if judged reasonable, be counter-signed by an appropriate member of staff. If not, then incorrect uniform can lead to students not being allowed in the classroom.
All uniform must be labelled. Name tapes can be used or, alternatively, garments can be labelled with marking ink. It is helpful to mark uniform in more than one place; a good additional place on a blazer, for example, is the inside lining of the sleeve, just below the elbow.
