Technology (CDT and Food)

Technology encompasses Food, Resistant Materials and Child Development.

Technology aims to equip students to meet the demands of university and the world of work with transferable practical skills as well as knowledge and understanding of a range of materials. Technology provides the opportunity to develop an understanding of the needs of the environment, culture and healthy living.

In Years 7 - 9, students are able to learn through:

  • Practical experience in our well-equipped workshops and kitchens
  • Creating, designing and developing products and ideas
  • Experiencing a range of industries invited into school
  • By taking students on visits to give first-hand experience

As our students move into Years 10 -13, we offer courses in Child Development and Child Psychology. These broaden horizons, enabling students to either enter the world of work or continue on to university degree level.
