Students in Year 10 studying Astronomy GCSE had the privilege to speak to Greg Chamitoff, Professor of Aerospace Engineering and former NASA astronaut. The Astronomy students, who have been learning about Science and Astronomy throughout the year, during their lunchtime, sat down and had a Skype call with the astronaut. They had many questions about his preparations before launch, his experience on the International Space Station, his thoughts on the future of space travel and much more.

The Science Museum was the venue for a group of Year 8 and 9 students competing in the BP Ultimate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Challenge. They were up against eleven other teams selected from hundreds of other applications.

Following a competition win at Capital City Academy in February, a group of 19 Year 9 students were asked to represent Brent at the London Youth Games (LYG) at the Copper Box on the Olympic Park.

The JFS community celebrated an unforgettable Purim morning filled with food, fun, and fancy dress. The array of costumes sported by staff and students alike, showed the extraordinary creativity of the JFS family.

As part of the Brent Football League, our Year 8 Girls team continued their unbeaten run this season with a 0 - 0 draw against St Gregory’s Catholic School and a 3 - 0 win against Wembley High Tech College.

Goals were provided by Minnie and Amelie, with an outstanding performance from Sarah, in defence.
