JFS Parental Contributions

JFS is more than just your ordinary state school. For nearly 300 hundred years, we have been a cornerstone of the UK Jewish community and we have done more than just educate.
At JFS, education goes far beyond the classroom. It’s where academic ambition meets Jewish identity. It’s where leaders are formed, confidence is built, and futures are forged. Our students don’t just leave with the best results – they leave with purpose, pride and ready to lead the community.
What sets JFS apart from other state schools:
-
More Mentorship: We employ over 25 expert Lead Practitioners – most schools have just 2 or 3 – giving students personalised guidance and stretch.
-
More Identity: A full Jewish Studies programme plus powerful informal learning experiences that build character, pride, and heritage.
-
More Support: Industry-leading pastoral care with life coaches, counsellors, and safeguarding officers supporting the whole child.
-
More Excellence: Our students outperform national averages by over a grade and progress to Russell Group universities at three times the national rate.
-
More Innovation: Access to world-class IT, science, and arts facilities – helping every child explore their full potential.

But having more, and being more, comes at a cost. Sadly, government funding doesn’t even cover the basics and we are delivering more than that. Rising costs - from retaining top staff to expanding SEN provision and modernising infrastructure - threaten to undermine what makes JFS exceptional.
This is why we have rebranded our Voluntary Contributions to The More Than Fund. So we can continue to do and be more for your children. Our proposed contribution to the ‘More Than Fund’ is £1,620 per pupil per year (£135 a month through direct debit or via other methods as set out in the leaflet here) however, if you are able to give more, our commitment to you is that every pound you give will be spent to the benefit of the children.

Whilst there is no obligation to make any donation (pupils at the school will not be treated differently according to whether their parents have made any donation in response to a request or not), these contributions are the single biggest determiner of what we are able to be.
