Child Development
Key Stage 3
Key Stage 4
This course is for learners aged 14-16 who wish to develop applied knowledge and practical skills in child development. It is equivalent to a full GCSE. It is designed with both practical and theoretical elements, which will prepare students for further qualifications in Child Care, Health and Social Care, Psychology, Sociology, and Biology.
The students study aspects of the family, relationships, and problems surrounding them. They understand the conception and development of the unborn child and learn about the mental and physical advancement of a new baby from birth to age ten.
Students have much hands-on experience with participation in practical sessions with babies and children in school, and a later attachment in nursery schools in order to compile the Child Study.
