The inaugural event of the newly formed Parent Fundraising Committee was held last week at the JFS site with 120 happy participants. Parents, grandparents and JFS staff joined together for a fun and enjoyable evening of Bingo in the main hall.

Guests were treated to a wonderful spread of sushi, sandwiches, snacks and drinks to help and nourish through the rounds of Bingo. As well as gifts for the Bingo winners, a generous raffle offered great prizes such as sessions with personal trainers, vouchers for hairdressers, and designer handbags.

The Astronomy students, who have been learning about Science and Astronomy throughout the year, during their lunchtime, sat down and had a Skype call with the astronaut. They had many questions about his preparations before launch, his experience on the International Space Station, his thoughts on the future of space travel and much more.

The Science Museum was the venue for a group of Year 8 and 9 students competing in the BP Ultimate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Challenge. They were up against eleven other teams selected from hundreds of other applications.

Following a competition win at Capital City Academy in February, a group of 19 Year 9 students were asked to represent Brent at the London Youth Games (LYG) at the Copper Box on the Olympic Park.
