This week every JFS pupil has been sent home with a Yellow Candle which have been packed at JFS by our Charity Committee. Yellow Candle is a project led by Maccabi GB, and will be taking place on Monday evening 13th April, the eve of Yom HaShoah. This annual initiative pays tribute to the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, uniting communities in remembrance. Each Yellow Candle comes with a biographical card, sharing - where known - the name, age, place of birth and death of a Holocaust victim. By lighting a candle, we honour their memory and ensure their stories continue to be told, strengthening our collective commitment to remembrance and resilience. The candles this year have been very kindly funded, and we will be distributing 2,500 Yellow Candles within the School, which would have normally cost the school £3.50 per candle.
